Roaming the byways of literature

Travels at dusk

I spent the weekend in London and returned home by coach yesterday evening. As the darkness fell we were embedded in a stream of vehicles going our way, and passing another going the opposite way. No doubt this happens every day.

A very modern haiku started to form itself in my mind:

both sides of the road
rivers of lights – one side gold,
one ruby – home time.
